In May 2006 we received an interesting request from the company Gecco: Would we be interested in manufacturing the trophy stand for the final of the soccer World Cup?
Following internal clarification of technical questions such as date, secrecy and production methods, the job was accepted.
We received the CAD data and immediately started the CNC-programming with work-NC. The delivered blank which was made of MDF had a size of 3600 x 1200 x 1200mm. We placed it on our largest 5-axis milling machine – a Zimmermann FZ40.
After only 3 days of processing, we were able to deliver on time.
